Well, not really, but Tina Fey has done her research and has done a fabulous rendition of the candidate for Vice President SARAH "I-CAN-SEE-RUSSIA-FROM-MY-HOUSE" PALIN.

And since this has made headlines around the world, I thought I'd share a bit of humour in these dark times (not financial crisis, but study/exam crisis).

I've never been really into American politics, but this woman. Is actually stupid and ignorant. I actually hate her- she just has no idea what she's talking about, and she didn't even study Obama's policies properly, she misquotes and she attacks Obama by saying that he voted against tax reductions, but McCain voted the same + more. AGDHADGHADHJGADHJAGDH

I think this is the only time that I wish I was American, so I could vote against her. She always brings up that she was a mayor and she was governor. BIG WOOP.

When asked about her foreign policy experience, Palin answers by stating the proximity between Alaska and Russia and how they are 'right next to each other.'

Time Crisis - LT

My mistake. I meant this.
Could it be that the world has dug itself into a rut? We have become dependent on 'black gold'. The true water of the modern age. Recently, a barrel of oil hit $139. And not too long before that, it was an amazing milestone to see it rise above the 100 mark. Damn these financial futures and options and whatnot, increasing the price of oil. They are fighting for the wrong thing!

This is what the world should fight for. Why? Because this is what the financial institutions rate the world economy on. Yes, I should be assured that going to LA, I can cop a big mac for the relative same price. And yes I think I shall. See, the world is a better place when you know you can go to HongKong and cop like 3 of these babies. Bottom line is, everyone's happy (to an extent)

Zimbabwe has experienced inflation of somewhta 300% and thats due to many external factors. Especially this whole Mugabe debacle. The man just wants a figure head position, what a joke, so he gets his army boys to withhold food for the people who ultimately vote for him in this 'democracy'. Joke City. <- Rainy Day Lingo.

Anyway, so there is a mega disparity between Zimbabwe and Australia. Oil has been the main factor that has made imported food so expensive. My ultimate point being. Possibly if the world was benched against the Big Mac more, then everyone will be happy (to an extent)

Rudd confirms $35 mil to Toyota Hybrid - LT

In an effort to promote lower emissions and the cleaner image of Australia, Rudd has announced it will help fund the building of hybrid camrys.

Notice the trees and the clear blue sky?

While this generous funding will help boost employment levels, just how viable is it? Hybrid cars are said to be cheaper as they do not solely require fuel. This may be so, and the average Australian household can save on the fuel that the hybrid has not consumed. That is, until they receive the electricity bill.

So, a hybrid car might actually not be that much cleaner than the o-so-evil petrol variants. Is the grass actually greener on the hybrid side of the fence? To me, this transitional hybrid car phase seems a tad hard to believe.

What is the ultimate goal? To keep cars running or to keep the world running?

The biggest story around the world is that the Democratic nominee is BLACK, and not a woman.

So what distinguished the two?Both were always going to be a first in the US, though interestingly not the world.

The world's already had a prominent black national leader, and his claim to fame is far more impressive than I'm-only-half-black-and-that-half-isn't-even-descended-from-the-US-slaves Barack Obama (note: not that it matters at all if he was descended from the actual slaves, none of them are alive anymore anyway but it serves my point that his race isn't exactly all that repressed in relative terms in contemporary times. Compare them to Aboriginal Australians for God's sake).

What does this show?
That America is more or less the least progressive nation in the world.
And that just perhaps racial tolerance has surpassed the development of women's rights. Sounds about right.

In any case this man should be throned emperor of the world.

Not because I'm a Republican, in either sense (I'm not American, but if I was I'd be a Democrat). Not because I'm racist (I'm not white but if I was I still wouldn't be racist). Not because I'm sexist (I...am a male but if I was a female I probably wouldn't vote for the woman who humiliatingly had her husband's affair broadcast to the world).
But probably because of all of the candicates, Republican or Democratic, that were running, he has the most in common with Nelson Mandela (yes, even more than colour-brother Barack Obama) as a POW and importantly because he is against pulling the US troops out of Iraq.
