Telephone Piece - Yoko Ono - LT

It may be bizarre that the world's most used device is a work of art - but behold - Ono has transforme what we take telecommunication for granted to be, into conceptual art.

Following from my previous art post, this telephone piece is not for aesthetics. It is about incorporating the viewer to appreciate the moment as a whole, and not just understanding the artwork from a distance. By removing the barriers that keep us away from the artwork, the telephone piece actually works and gives the audience an actual chance to listen to Ono and her logic behind the artwork.

It's amazing what this seemingly ordinary object can stand for when you understand the contextual significance.

New Girl-Crush- DW(Z)

I want to be this person:

I think she is so (c-)ultimately immaculate. I want to be her. Welcome back Photoshop, oh how I've missed you.

Alexa Chung is so effortlessly chic, and all this hype about her, I think is definately justified. And How many Bayswaters does she have?! Whether it's Mulberry or Chanel or randonly ugly sherpa, I lover her look. HOW SEXY ARE HER LEGS.

MMmmm.. DELICIOUS (:

"A Forest of Lines" - LT

Pierre Huyghe, "A Forest of Lines" 2008
2008 Sydney Biennale Festival

A 24 hour event at the Sydney Opera House. This installation artwork allowed for viewers to step inside a surreal environment and experience the theme of this year's Biennale - "Revoultions - Forms that Turn". Huyghe was able to transform an audial concert hall into a visual artwork, inspiring the imagination into an array of different lines and perceptions.

How Fast Are You Going Now? - JL

I'm sure you have heard that phrase before on the TV Ads from RTA.
But what happens if you are on a pedal bike?

Not to worry.

An inventor has created a cycling vest that displays its wearer's speed to other road users. The high visibility Speed Vest is aimed at increasing road safety. The battery-operated vest works through a sensor connected to the wheels which sends a microcounter to calculate the number of rotations of the wheel per second.

Bloody Genius. It is surprising to know that the avg speed on a pedal bike is actually 15-20miles/hour. Not a bad alternative if Epping and Victoria Road continues to be a pain during peak hour traffic.

btw. This post was dedicated to Dickson who recently bought a 2k pedal bike.
Yes. a 2k pedal bike. Didn't know they could be that expensive. LOL but good on ya mate.

Material Girl- DW(Z)

EDIT: THE LEGGINGS CAME and are SEXUAL but the XS is soo small. and its high waisted. so it takes me about 5 Solid minutes to get it over my ass. ... :( but the legs fit fine. i think next time i should obviously go for SMALL. HAHA. but they are SEXUAL.

I need a new wallet. I've had my current wallet for 4 years (obviously I haven't always used it on a regular basis) but it's nearing the end of its days.

And I need new flats

But I've bought lots of shoes (all for under $28 each- AWESOME: check out gojane.com). It's got lots of shitty hooker-come-hither shoes, and obviously the quality won't be faaaan-tastic, but the prices are fun-tastic, and I was in Myer the other day. SAW these shoes, for AUD$184, but I bought it for US$21. WOO. The shipping costs are ridiculous ($40 for under 150)- but if you average it out, you still make a MASSIVE saving. I bought 6 pairs of shoes and 2 pairs of sunnies for around $150- INSANE.

There's alot of hype about forever21.com- I did the same order- 4 times. and each time they rejected me (ie. cancelled my order) because I "didn't give them sufficient identification". WHICH IS RIDICULOUS. Forever21 I'll admit, is massively cheap and has more "fashionable" things, but the drama annoyed me forever..

American Apparel. Also sucks ASS. But I always go back- I can't resist the "Sexuali" singlet and the awesome sales and the leggings and the INTERLOCK MINI SKIRT (which is waaaaay sexual). But I ordered a pair of these maybe 5 months ago, on sale, free shipping, AND THEY SENT ME THE WRONG ONES. I called them IN AMERICAN TIME and they said they would send me replacements. It's been 2 months since that fateful night, and no VEGAS leggings are to be seen!
Ridiculous!

Yoox.com BOYS- everything is awesome. JL needs to buy shoes. His birthday is coming up. In a week. SHOES SHOES SHOES. :) PLEASE NOT THESE.

I went shopping with my dad the other day, and I didn't. Buy. ANything. Except for the latest issue of Russh. I just thought everything was too expensive- and I kept on thinking about the list of sites that would sell the same thing for cheaper, much like a mini rolla-dex of online stores. E-commerce has opened my eyes, and now I don't want to buy anything over $50 unless its REALLY special and Australian.

Food Tetris - LT

Your eyes deceive you not, for that is indeed french toast. Notice how it stacks nicely into the curved lid. Complemented well with sweet delicious fruit. The perfect dessert bento.
Observe the double bento manouvre. Difficulty 2.5. The proportion of meat and vegetables is just right, garnished with carrot stars. Exquisite.
Definitely a tetris pro. Cupcake holder to separate colesale, genius. Who would have thought to use monkey toothpick to attack those italian sausages, pan fried to perfection.

Bento PRO.

Cat Fight Gone Horribly Wrong - JL

Lisa Smithies, 21, brutal street fight in Burnley with another woman has been stopped from going out late at night for three months by magistrates.

The single mum's act of violence was posted on Youtube after being filmed fighting with another woman, knocking her out stone cold and then added in a few cheap shots before being stopped by a few stunned onlookers. It left the other woman with black eyes and seven stitches to her lip. The shocking footage was shown before the court. She claimed that the other woman had started a confrontation with her friend in a bar and that was when she decided to join in.

CAUTION: CONTAINS EXTREME VIOLENCE, SWEARING AND FUNNYASS COMMENTARY FROM THE DUDES THAT FILMED IT!!

btw. you must watch the whole video for the climatic finish.
