I've never been really into American politics, but this woman. Is actually stupid and ignorant. I actually hate her- she just has no idea what she's talking about, and she didn't even study Obama's policies properly, she misquotes and she attacks Obama by saying that he voted against tax reductions, but McCain voted the same + more. AGDHADGHADHJGADHJAGDH
I think this is the only time that I wish I was American, so I could vote against her. She always brings up that she was a mayor and she was governor. BIG WOOP.

I've never properly read up American politics until this election either but to lay all the stupidity and blame on Palin I reckon is wrong- Obama didn't even know how many states there were in America. Even though she's made an ass out of herself here (and many other times-_-) she's proven herself pretty straight up along Mccain's policies whereas Obama and Biden have differed on the same policies heaps of times. This may be because she's had less times to screw herself in the foot considering the minimal amount of media interviews she's actually done HAHA... but still.
I know I don't really have a say in who's going to come to power but I keep getting CRAZY psyched (by myself-_-... while I'm reading stupid articles when I should be studying/essaying/other things HAHA) because this feels like such a huge 'turning point' kind of DECISION. Bush has held office for TWO FRKKING CONSECUTIVE TERMS and so I realise something has got to give considering IRAQ HAS GONE ON FAR ENOUGH but with the US economy being pretty shit, Obama's position on a 'bigger government' and his socialist tendencies isn't gonna help domestically as much as Mccain. Even though his position on welfare and healthcare and what not is pretty ideal- I really don't know if it'll ever come to fruition, if anything it'll potentially screw up domestics or he'll be all talk. Then again, I know Mccain's gnna keep screwing up with the IRAQ issue and the oil pipeline they're going for (SERIOUSLY WTH -_-). ARGH. SO CONFUSED.
ALSO: her constantly bringing up her executive experience is pretty important considering Obama has like next to no experience. Obama's only had experience in legislation- even then he hasn't voted on EVERY single issue that he should have, with the one's he has it's always been along his party lines. Even though I don't agree with Palin with a lot of her beliefs at least she's been strong in showing and stating them- you know what you're gonna get with Palin- whereas Obama's just been sitting on the fence. Executive, practical experience is a huge step to take from someone who's only had dealings with upcoming legislation and Palin's proven her ability to negotiate- even on issues that are controversial which as far as I've read, Obama hasn't.
It's sad that I know so much more about American politics than Australian politics.. oh God. HAHA
BUT YES. THIS HAS BEEN LONG. SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME SOME INSIGHT. CONNNNNfused.

If McCain wins, it is very possible that he will die whilst still in office. And if Palin becomes president.. God help us all.
Can you really imagine Palin of all people lifting America out of its economic crisis and finding a viable long term solution for the war? Everyday, the war in Iraq is looking more and more like another Vietnam. It is almost impossible to win against guerrilla warfare. The American presence in Iraq is clearly causing more harm than good. Yes they had good intentions (well. at least they want us to think that), but they have to eventually accept that more troops and the enforcement of a foreign ideology is not the answer. It is only fueling the hatred of the West.
And what about the very serious and REAL issue of climate change? Palin doesn't even attribute global warming to mankind!!! And how about the escalating issues regarding Eastern Europe and Russia's potential plans of aggressive annexation of former territories? Do you really think Putin will sit down and conduct serious negotiations with such a farcical character? She drones on and on about her 'extensive' experience but it is quite clear she has a very ethnocentric view of everything. Yes the good ol' hockey moms are citizens too, but when volatile states are flexing their muscles against a waning Uncle Sam.. a hockey mom doesn't stand a chance.
Now I am in no way advocating the Democrats either. But in my opinion, they are the lesser of two evils..
urgh. politics. such a messy business. i barely stuck a toe each of the aforementioned issues.. but i should stop now. gossip girl is on.

We both AGREE that the democrats is the LESSER of two evils.
I think that was my point- I don't like how everyone is making Obama out as this GOD SENT hero who'll make everything better. I'm not saying Mccain (and thus Palin) IS- I'm saying that despite Palin's faults being highlighted on a much higher and much more publicised scale, Obama's got them too.
Btw.. I can't find the GG ep for this week, I thought they were skipping it.

i concur that Palin is copping a hell of a lot of bad press. (i've always wanted to use the word 'concur' hahaha)
But I don't mind the media's excessive attempts to debase Palin. Well, to be frank, it's quite hilarious watching her flounder under pressure. Whilst watching the vice presidential debate, I was waiting for Biden to crack Palin and make her burst into tears. I was rather disappointed afterwards.
Sadistic? Possibly.
It's all tricky. This election business.
