Legend In The Making - JL

Name: Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro
Date of Birth: 5/2/1985

Status: Legend (in the making)

Yes. It's an undeniable fact. Cristiano Ronaldo has taken the football world by storm.

Off the coast of Portugal, in Madeira, a young superstar was born. Ronaldo surpassed all expectations...

At the tender age of 15, he was signed by Sporting Lisbon. Scoring 5 goals in his debut season, he captured some much wanted attention by the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United.

In the summer of 2003, Ferguson wanted the gifted winger and Ronaldo was signed to the Red Devils for $12.25 million dollars.

Ronaldo (aka Rocket Ronnie, CR7)

He's had great success over the past few seasons with the club scoring over 90 goals in 5 seasons.

So what's so special about Ronaldo? The answer is simple.

This Portugese dynamo has the ability to hassle defenders with his joga bonito-like tricks whilst finding team-mates in the open. On the pitch, Ferguson calls him the "match winner" as he provides constant bombardment on the wing with his great speed and athleticism. Off the pitch, the audience enjoys watching him tearing holes through the opposition's defence.

However, this sudden appearance under the spotlight brought many criticisms about the way he played football.
(for the ladies)
But he stood tall. He answered back the critics with superb individual performances this season.

Johan Cruyff once said, “Ronaldo is better than George Best and Denis Law, who were two brilliant and great players in the history of United."
The Champions League in 2 days time will add another chapter in Ronaldo's illustrious career. If Manchester United wins, it will determine whether this statement will become fact or fiction.

So... Ronaldo's career, so far, can be defined by 6 simple words. That is:

He came.

He Saw (or soared :P)

He Conquered.

Ronaldo once had a dream.

A dream to become the World's greatest footballer of the modern era.
The question is... Does he have your support?

Well... he sure has mine.
